What we store, and what we do not
Last updated 2 August 2026.
Generating and scanning
QR codes are generated in your browser. Scanning also happens in your browser — images you upload or paste are never sent to our servers. If you are not signed in, nothing you create is stored at all.
Saved codes
When you save a code we store its title, type, encoded content, styling settings and a small preview image, linked to your account. You can delete any of it, or export everything as CSV, from your account page.
Scan analytics
Dynamic codes record each scan. We store the device category, operating system, browser, coarse location supplied by our CDN, language and referrer. We do not store IP addresses. Unique scanners are counted using a hash that changes every day, so the same person cannot be followed from one day to the next.
What we never do
- Sell your data or your scan analytics to anyone
- Add a watermark or tracking pixel to codes you download
- Expire a code you created because you stopped paying — there is nothing to pay
Advertising
Public pages may show ads from third-party networks, which set their own cookies under their own policies. Your dashboard, analytics and saved codes are never used for ad targeting.
