On Windows you can use the webcam, the built-in Camera app on recent versions, or paste a screenshot of a code that is already on your screen.

Your browser will ask for camera permission. Camera access needs HTTPS, and on iPhone it needs Safari.

Step by step

How to do it

  1. Screenshot a code on screen

    Press Win+Shift+S, select the QR code, then press Ctrl+V on this page.

  2. Use the webcam

    Click "Start camera" above and hold the code in front of the webcam.

  3. Or the Camera app

    Recent versions of the Windows Camera app include a barcode / QR mode. Open Camera and switch to it if you see it.

  4. Act on the result

    Links, Wi-Fi details and contacts appear in the Results panel, ready to open or copy.
